The Mara is the land of African legend: Lion are abundant throughout the park, as are the elephants, giraffes, and a variety of gazelle species and zebra. Cheetah and leopard are also regularly seen and, less commonly, rhino. The annual wildebeest migration, one of nature’s few remaining wildlife spectacles, occurs in the Mara from July to September where the big animals and their predators are to be present in abundance during the time frame of this trip.

Several species of Bee-Eater, the flying rainbow that heads the list of the Mara’s birds, occur in the reserve. As well as wildlife, the Maasai Mara is also home to many members of the colorful Maasai tribe who may be seen around the borders of the park – Morans (warriors) loping across the plains, young boys herding goats, or elders grouped under a tree discussing matters of the day. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge/Camp.

Lake Naivasha is a beautiful freshwater lake, fringed by thick papyrus is almost 13 km’s across, but its waters are shallow with an average depth of five metres. The waters of the lake draw a great range of game to these shores. Giraffes wander among the acacia, Buffalo wallow in the swamps and Colobus monkeys call from the treetops while the Lakes large hippo populations sleep the day out in the shallows. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Sweetwaters is located in typical savannah grasslands with ‘Whistling Thorn’ and other acacia trees, overlooking a floodlit waterhole and salt-lick, Sweetwaters is truly an oasis. It offers guests some of the finest tented accommodation in Kenya, personalized service and attention, and abundant game viewing opportunities. Sweetwaters Tented Camp, with magnificent views across the plains to the snow capped peaks of Mount Kenya, lies in the heart of 90,000 acre Ol Pejeta Conservancy. This game sanctuary is the closest reserve to Nairobi with the ‘big five’, and has the highest ratio of game-to-area of any park or reserve in Kenya.

Accommodation & Facilities: The Camp consists of 40 luxury en-suite tents, some on ground level and some erected on raised wooden platforms. All tents are covered with thatch, keeping them cool even during the hottest day. Each spacious tent has a verandah and en-suite bathroom. The original farmhouse contains the dining room, bar and reception, and other facilities include a swimming pool. Ol Pejeta Ranch includes the 24,000 acre private Sweetwaters Game Reserve, and is home to a grand variety of wild game, bird-life, and exotic flora.

Once home of millionaire Adnan Khashoggi, Ol Pejeta Ranch House offers exclusivity for a maximum of twelve guests. The house, furnished with original and unusual paintings and artifacts, comprises six elegantly appointed suites, which overlook extensive tropical gardens and two swimming pools. Dinner and overnight at the Camp.

Day 8: NAIROBI – AMBOSELI
Breakfast at the hotel. Depart for Amboseli to arrive in time for lunch.
Arid looking as Amboseli has historically supported both game and the Masai that kept their herds of cattle here. It is thanks to the waters that run off Africa’s greatest mountain that the apparently dry Amboseli, Kenya’s first game sanctuary is able to support its wildlife. Mount Kilimanjaro broods high over Amboseli, generally cloaked by clouds but appearing in all its snow-shrouded magnificence from time to time. The mountain now provides water for the park, wonderful views and, of course, the most glorious background for animal photography. Enjoy an evening game drive in this scenic and wildlife rich park. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 9: AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK
Enjoy an early morning and evening game drive in the Park. We recommend that you get up very early in the morning so as to experience excellent game viewing & an unprecedented view of the snowcapped Mount Kilimanjaro on a clear. An optional visit to the Masai village is provided on request at an extra cost. Meals and overnight at the lodge.

Day 10: AMBOSELI – NAIROBI – DEPARTURE
